**NEW** WEEKLY MODELING SESSION: Week 009 Evoler
Week 9 starts on a rainy bank holiday Monday here in the UK. To liven things up I've dug out a colourful little creature from an old `COW` (Creature of the week). This little creature can be seen in all its life stages and you can model any or all of them as you like.
![]() COMMENTS: Try to do the whole series and explore scale a little. Take the creature one stage further by trying all the diffrerent poses and create your own to show it running and jumping. Good luck and enjoy! http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/uploads2009/img114.jpg

check out the gender symbols in the image. And if that is a new concept to you then check out Wiki which explains how the symbols relate to gender:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_symbol Hope that helps. Glen

Hi Paul,
WOW youre finished. Cool. Nice Model. Just a sugestion. Maybe you can use the displacement paint tool to add more details to your model. Painting displacement most be a lot fun. Have fun and cu on Sunday. Cheers XBO Last edited by xbo; 05-08-2009 at 08:45 AM. |

Hey xbo,
Thanks, I have never had good luck using the paint displacement tool. When I have tried it, every thing goes wacky. Sound like you haven't had much luck with it either. Later

Ooohhh, you've got some weird ngons in the back, below the spines. You could probably rework the mesh there a little bit to make quads. Not sure if you need to, but quads are so much more elegant.
But, I suppose if you are going to subdivide the mesh they will resolve into quads? |

Thanks Dasch. I noticed those ngons yesterday after I posted.
When I added the ribs it made strange geometry.
