I'm very new to modeling, and still very shy about it - but you gotta get it out there, right? Here's the WIP where he's holding
now:

This is the original concept art he's based on:

Comments and/or crits are more than welcome.

Looking good and fun concept. However, showing a nice low res wireframe is where people can give you the best constructive feedback.

For whatever reason the screencast links didn't work. I had to use another image hosting site.

Topology is fine. I think the only crit I would have for you is that the head/beard area is more tapered than in the concept. In the drawing, the beard comes along the face to the chin almost as a circle, then extrudes down into the hanging part of the beard. Also, the body in the drawing has more of a tapered body, really thin at the top to a wider bottom. The hands should be made a tad bigger as well. The fingers are too short compared to the drawing.

Great start and good job on the modeling. Nice work.

Yeah! He is looking good. The difference I see between the concept and your fine model is that on the model his feet appear smaller. BUT that may make him easier to animate and they look well proportioned to the model. THis guy is looking good.

Yeah I'm gonna do another iteration of the beard and make the hands bigger. Originally I tried tapering the shoulders and had bigger shoes more like the drawing, but thought it looked too clownish. I'll try a different approach, maybe. Translating a stylized 2D drawing like that into 3D and keeping the same vibe is pretty challenging.

I tried tapering the chest and shoulders, making the hands bigger, and making the beard more like the concept. Crits?

Great work, the topo seems clean, don't really have any crits at this point, from a design perspective, those big shoes might be tricky to animate, otherwise it's looking close to the concept, keep going man
