Incredibly nice feel to this character.
The texture painting is superb already. What do you do with these masterpieces once you build em? Do you sell the meshes online? |

Thanks gang! Yeah, usually, if it's something for work, it ends up being sold. Sometimes, I make something for me but give it to the company to sell to the masses. Sometimes, I sell through the company if it's something they don't feel they need. Then, there's the times I do 'em just for fun. So I guess it depends on the situation or my mood. I have two models right now - rather mundane in theme - that I'm really proud of that were made entirely in Silo. Sadly, I can't show them yet, as they're for work. Some of the most realistic work I've done to date too. Hope to be able to show it off soon, I could use an extra set of eyes on the topology for next time.

Had to take a break from the 2D work my job has me doing, so I decided to do a quick face model. Here's a shot at various levels of division.
![]() From left to right: Base mesh - 714 quads Mid Range mesh - 2,856 quads High Poly mesh - 11,424 quads I'll be doing a lot of 2D work in the coming months. Think I'll see how far I can take this guy between projects before I lose interest. |

Great work Teyon, really like the polypaint update on the alien guy and the overall modeling, those last 2 sculpts of Captain America and Wolverine looking nice as well, the basemesh has a Alex Ross feel to it. Just bought a new Wacom Intuos3 A4 tablet, so i'll be doing some more 2d work as well, it's a nice break from 3d

Thanks. It can be a nice break sometimes. I find that I usually want to do 2d when I'm doing 3d and 3d when I'm doing 2d. I need to sync better.

Hi, I just found out about silo's user forum and your work instantly stood out to me.
very great monster designs and your modeling is over-all of a very high standard, you should try to get into modeling as a carreer .so far i like your alien designs best i think they have a nice feeling of mass to them, especially the textured ones, if that makes sense.(you have a good understanding of subtle texturing, jus tthe right amount of color and so on) i also really enjoy your red super hero. you might wanna look out for the color though, since the very saturated red sort of takes a way some of the details and make the figure a bit harder to read. but the pose is just great. My advice would be to pose more of your creatures. there is one bulky guy at the beginning of your forum who is not finished but you have modeled him with his arms up and screaming i guess, those things make your figure really come to life. thank you for sharing your stuff, you just inspired me to work harder ![]() |

Hi. Thanks. Yes, the red was a bit over saturated - same with the yellow in the post directly above. It's something I've become more aware of. I'm currently working as a modeler/illustrator at Smith Micro Software, Inc. Not as glamorous as a film studio or a game studio but probably just as taxing.
Gave the head a full body. Modeled in Silo. ![]() Took the above silo created model into ZBrush to make one of my friend's comic book characters into a statue. This is still WIP. ![]() |

That guy looks quite creepy, Teyon. What sort of character is he?
Excellent texture painting, man. |

Thanks guys. The base is the same as Wolvie and Cap. The texture still needs some work, as does the model (both are too symmetrical). I'm guessing he's some kind of alien/orc/dog half-breed maybe? I dunno. Anyway I'll try and do a proper render when I get a chance.

hey, that comic character statue is lookin really good, i guess your friend is gonna be happy! lookin forward to see this one finished!
the org dog half breed looks pretty decent too! but we need a shaded version ![]() anyway maybe his eyes are a little bit too human? they stick out for me. maybe its the color? you could change it to somethign non human like purple or sumethin or make it like reaaaally blue crystal-iceblue and maybe change the pupil to something other than round or maybe 3 pupils or whatever ![]() anyway really great work! |

Nice update Teyon. That heroic comic book guy looks sweet to work on as a basemesh for quickly sculpting anatomy, the shading on the "doggystyle" (for lack of a better definition lol) character is great as well, small crit, maybe work some more on breaking it up, otherwise interesting work as usual.

Cool new stuff Teyon. I like being able to study the topology on the female face you've started. It's very helpful.
